French Drains - French drain water always flows downhill, and by the easiest route possible. That's the basic concept behind a French drain, a slightly sloped trench filled with round gravel and a pipe that diverts water away from your house.

Dry Wells and Seepage Pits - A dry well is an underground structure that disposes of unwanted water, most commonly storm water runoff, by dissipating it into the ground where it merges with the local groundwater. A dry well is composed of a perforated pipe that directs roof runoff into a small pit lined with gravel. This pit helps filter harmful chemicals.
